Wind Farming:  Harvesting Clean Energy Conference and Tour


The St. John Aroostook RC&D hosted a "Wind Farming: Harvesting Clean Energy" Conference and Tour in October 2007 at the University of Maine at Presque Isle.  The purpose of the conference was to provide participants information regarding how wind resources can be developed to grow rural economies, including businesses, municipalities, agricultural producers and homeowners.

Michael Alvarez - Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, UPC Wind.
"The Making of Mars Hill:  What Went Into the Project." 

John Sheehan - Business/Cooperative Specialist, USDA Rural Development.
Economic Support for Maine Renewable Energy Projects. 

Sue Jones - President, Community Energy Partners.
