SUBJECT:  MGT – Request for Volunteers to Serve on Advisory Committees 

Action Required By:  April 4, 2008 

Purpose:  To advise of, and request volunteers for, two new advisory committees in Maine – State Conservationist’s Advisory Committee (SCAC) and Public Affairs Advisory Committee (PAAC). 

Expiration Date:  April 30, 2008 

We are seeking volunteers to serve on two newly-established advisory committees in Maine.  The State Conservationist’s Advisory Committee will work with and advise the State Conservationist on a number of different issues, concerns, and ideas throughout the year.  The Public Affairs Advisory Committee will work with and advise the Public Affairs Specialist on outreach and communication needs and products for Maine NRCS employees, our clients and the general public.   

Three employees will serve on each advisory committee and the meetings will occur three to four times a year (or as deemed appropriate) via teleconference and occasionally a face-to-face meeting.  

If you are interested in serving on either of these advisory committees, please obtain approval from your supervisor and submit your name to Elaine Tremble, Public Affairs Specialist, by April 4, 2008.
