SUBJECT:  Guidance on use of Direct Charge:

Purpose: Provide guidance on charging time to specific fund codes

Expiration Date: December 30, 2008

Attached is the direct charge budget for FY 08 based on allocations received on January 30, 2008.

Of critical importance, is the need to earn and monitor earnings for the programs which expire on March 15th. These include: WHIP, WRP, CRP, EQIP GSWC, and GRP. The hours indicated on this direct charge budget for these programs represent hours to be used by March 15th. Please note: GRP dollars are very minimal; hours spent on that program must be restricted to those individuals listed with strict adherence to hours budgeted. When printing the direct charge attachment you need to use 11x17 paper.

The SABERS reports will not reflect these changes until Kyle has the time to update the electronic records. We will, however, provide you with the report to at least look at the “actual hours” expended to date.

Once the budget is finalized, additional changes to this direct charge budget may be needed. Due to the March 15th date, it was crucial to get this out as soon as possible to expend as much of the Farm Bill dollars as possible.
