MAINE BULLETIN NO. ME 250-8-3

                                                                                             June 23, 2008

SUBJECT: Travel – Implementation of eGovTrip

Purpose: To Provide Information on eGovTrip Training Date

Expiration date: September 30, 2008

NRCS is changing from the current system for making travel authorizations, trip arrangements and vouchering. We will no longer be using FedTravel for transportation arrangements and Roger will no longer be inputting travel authorizations via the travel system connected to NFC.

Effective July 7, 2008, we will be using an electronic system developed for government agencies by Northrup Grumann (contractor). All employees will need to access the new system when making travel arrangements for hotel and transportation. Each and every trip from July 7 forward will require a separate authorization. Some of the blanket authorizations currently in effect should carry though to the end of the year such as for soils detailees. No travel authorizations may be issued in the old travel beyond June 27, 2008. If individuals need to make flight arrangements between June 27 and July 6, they will need to call FedTravel with a local authorization number then go into eGovTrip when it opens on July 7 and prepare a post-travel authorization and the voucher.

Northrup Grumman has set up Webcast training for travelers for all states. Maine’s only session is to be held on July 2, 2008, between 8:30 and 11:30 am. We are allowed 3 lines so I have reserved the conference rooms in Presque Isle, Bangor State Office, and in Lewiston for these sessions. Since this is the only training that will be provided we encourage each of you to attend if at all possible. Instructional materials will be prepared in the State Office and provided to all employees.

Please direct any questions on eGovTrip to Coleen Churchill, Caren Roy, and Pat Clark.
