MAINE BULLETIN NO. ME 180-8-3

SUBJECT: CPA – Maine Policy for Conservation Planning and Environmental Compliance for FSA’s Conservation Reserve Program and Emergency Conservation Program.

Purpose: To explain the process to follow when providing conservation planning/environmental compliance assistance to clients of the Conservation Reserve Program and Emergency Conservation Program.

Expiration Date: September 30, 2008

Attached is Maine NRCS’ policy on technical assistance for the Conservation Reserve Program and Emergency Conservation Program. Note that a ME-CPA-52 signed by FSA is required before NRCS can provide technical assistance which directs or controls the outcome of a conservation plan/contract.

Questions regarding the use of the Environmental Evaluation (ME-CPA-52) form should be directed to Jim Johnson, Resource Conservationist at 207-990-9508 or the appropriate specialist identified in the attached policy on technical assistance for the Conservation Reserve Program and the Emergency Conservation Program. Questions regarding the Conservation Reserve Program and Emergency Conservation Program should be directed to Susan Arrants, Resource Conservationist at 207-990-9564 or Bill Yamartino, ASTC for Programs at 207-990-9553.
