SUBJECT: CPA – Maine Policy for Conservation Planning and Environmental Compliance for FSA’s Conservation Reserve Program and Emergency Conservation Program.

Purpose: To explain the process to follow when providing conservation planning/environmental compliance assistance to clients of the Conservation Reserve Program and Emergency Conservation Program.

Expiration Date: September 30, 2008

Attached is Maine NRCS’ policy on technical assistance for the Conservation Reserve Program and Emergency Conservation Program. Note that a ME-CPA-52 signed by FSA is required before NRCS can provide technical assistance which directs or controls the outcome of a conservation plan/contract.

Questions regarding the use of the Environmental Evaluation (ME-CPA-52) form should be directed to Jim Johnson, Resource Conservationist at 207-990-9508 or the appropriate specialist identified in the attached policy on technical assistance for the Conservation Reserve Program and the Emergency Conservation Program.
