Agricultural Conservation Experienced Services Project
In 2005, the U.S. Department of Agriculture entered into a pilot project with
the National Older Worker Career Center (NOWCC)
to create a corps of experienced workers to support conservation efforts, and
has since been expanded to include more than 200 positions in 30+ states.
The Agricultural Conservation Experienced Services (ACES) Program places
individuals age 55 and over in full-time and part-time positions at the Natural
Resources Conservation Service. The program offers temporary support
assignments ranging from clerical to editing, writing, engineering, and
scientific. Participants receive paid health insurance and other benefits.
