  MAINE STATE TECHNICAL COMMITTEE

There will be a meeting of the USDA State Technical Committee on Monday, May 23, 2011, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Spectacular Event Center, 395 Griffin Road in Bangor. The meeting will be hosted by the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS). At this meeting NRCS will be obtaining input on the State Resource Assessment, a three-year plan on where to target assistance based on prioritized resource concerns and critical treatment areas. In addition, a representative from the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife will be speaking on Maine’s “Game” Plan for Deer. It will address the issues with deer habitat in Northern, Eastern and Western Maine and how NRCS conservation practices could benefit deer habitat in these areas.
