A Nutrient Management Plan (NMP) is a Conservation Activity Plan which documents how nutrients will be managed for crop production.  When implemented as part of a conservation system, a NMP will help to ensure that both production and natural resource protection goals are achieved.  A NMP may be developed for either crop farms or for livestock farms that grow crops.  However, unlike a Comprehensive Nutrient Management Plan or a State of Maine Nutrient Management Plan, a NMP CAP does not include an assessment of the farmstead production area and adequacy of waste storage.
